Photo Highlights From the 2022 Pro Motocross Championship at Fox Raceway

After a year without attending a single supercross or motocross race, I was excited to make the trek south to Fox Raceway for the 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship season opener.

While there were some work-related activities to attend to, for the most part, I would be able to roam the pits/track snapping photos as some of the best in the world as they get down to business.

It’s always a pleasure to see these guys in person as their speed, technique, and style are second to none.

This year had the added bonus of nine-time MXGP champion, Antonio Cairoli and four-time AMA Pro Motocross champion, Ryan Dungey lining up against the next generation of 450 Class title contenders.

In addition to that, I picked up a new camera lens (Sony 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3) that I was very excited to test out as it’s much more versatile than the prime lens I brought with me last year.

It was also one year since I got my Sony a6000 and started dabbling in the photography space so I was eager to apply everything I had learned over the last 12 months.

I took a ton of photos but managed to widdle those down to some of my favorites from the first round of the Championship.

Chase Sexton (#23) and Ken Roczen (#94) were way out in front of the field all day

Five years after retiring, Ryan Dungey (#5) returned to the track and went 5-5 for 5th overall. I’m sensing a theme… :)

Defending champion, Jett Lawrence (#1) and his brother Hunter (#96) spent most of the day like this as the Australians went 1-2 with Jett starting off his title defense atop the podium
